Officers of the German police forcibly entered the premises of a 34-year-old in the Bavarian town of Freilassing on Tuesday morning. During the operation, they discovered a fully equipped cannabis plantation as well as weapons and valuable items.
The officers discovered 16 marijuana plants in the flat, which had been cultivated in a technically sophisticated cultivation system with ventilation, lighting and devices for measuring humidity and temperature. They also seized approximately 50 grammes of dried cannabis, ten grammes of hashish and two metal knuckle-dusters. Numerous designer clothing items, wristwatches and perfumes were also confiscated.
According to a statement from the authorities, the suspect was no longer officially registered at the address. He stated that he had deregistered in order to continue receiving Austrian unemployment benefits.
He is now facing charges including unlicensed drug trafficking, illegal cultivation of more than three cannabis plants and weapons law violations. Further investigations are being conducted by Freilassing police station together with the responsible prosecution authority.
