Investigators from the Central Criminal Service in Halle (Saale) have uncovered alleged drug trafficking in the Burgenland district. Seven people from the Teuchern area came under the scrutiny of detectives, including a 23-year-old and a 59-year-old. They are accused of jointly selling substantial quantities of narcotics.
Specialists from the narcotics department worked closely with the responsible prosecution authority. Following extended surveillance and evidence gathering, they applied to the Halle district court for search warrants. These were issued for nine residential properties and ancillary rooms as well as two garden plots in Teuchern and the neighbouring towns of Zeitz and Meineweh.
On 8 July 2026, approximately 70 uniformed and plainclothes officers raided the properties. The detectives were supported by officers from the riot police and the Burgenland district police station. Two of the suspects, a 23-year-old and a 36-year-old, were provisionally arrested.
During the house searches, detectives found over half a kilogramme of methamphetamine. They also seized mobile phones and further evidence that could substantiate suspicion of an organised distribution structure. The analysis of the seized items is ongoing.
