Two Bulgarians arrested following Molotov attack in Munich

Two Bulgarian citizens — a woman aged 28 and a man aged 38 — have been detained in Munich after incendiary devices were thrown at a vehicle and construction site outside the headquarters of technology company Rohde & Schwarz, according to Novinite.com.

The incident occurred around midnight. A witness reported the incident to police after the devices were thrown from a moving vehicle towards the construction site in front of the company's building. One of the Molotov cocktails ignited near construction containers, but the fire was quickly brought under control. Only minor material damage was reported, with no injuries.

The second incendiary device did not ignite. Specialists from the Bavarian Criminal Police were called to the scene and safely disposed of it. The area around the scene was cordoned off whilst authorities dealt with the potential hazard.

Police immediately launched a search and detained the two Bulgarian suspects at a nearby petrol station on Innsbrucker Ring street. Authorities stated that the connection of the two to the incident was still being clarified and was subject to investigation.

No information has been disclosed so far regarding any possible motive or reasons behind the alleged attack.

The case fits into a broader series of alleged sabotage and deliberate arson incidents in Germany and other parts of Europe involving objects connected to defence and strategic infrastructure.

Rohde & Schwarz, whose headquarters are in Munich, is a technology group active in the fields of security and communications. Its operations include security technologies and communications systems used by government institutions and military structures, according to published information.

Despite the nature of the incident and the company's profile, authorities have not indicated that the Bulgarian suspects directed their actions specifically against Rohde & Schwarz, nor that the case is connected to a broader sabotage campaign. Their alleged role, the circumstances, and the motive remain the subject of an ongoing investigation.
