A major raid coordinated by Europol across seven countries resulted in the arrest of 28 suspects and the rescue of three minors from sexual exploitation.

During a large-scale operation led by Europol between late May and mid-June, 28 people were arrested and three children were freed from abusive situations. The European police authority announced this on Wednesday, as reported by Mediafax.
The investigations targeted a network that was sexually exploiting minors. Security authorities from Canada, Czechia, Germany, Norway, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland participated in the operation.
During simultaneous searches carried out in several countries, officers were able to identify and arrest the suspects. Three children were brought to safety and placed under the protection of the relevant authorities.
According to Europol, the success of the operation was based on intensive information exchange between the participating countries as well as on coordinated operations that took place simultaneously in different countries. Cross-border cooperation made it possible to quickly identify those involved and protect the victims.
The authority emphasised that the sexual exploitation of children continues to represent one of the most serious forms of organised crime. Combating it is a top priority for the EU and its partner countries.
Europol also stated that the investigations are ongoing. Based on the digital evidence secured during the raids, further suspects and further victims could be identified.
The operation is part of international efforts to dismantle networks that abuse and sexually exploit children. Such offences require close cooperation between national police authorities and European law enforcement organisations.
