In Kiel, a patrol car was attacked during an operation at the so-called "Weißer Riese" high-rise. A heavy paving slab fell from the upper storeys of the residential tower directly into the windscreen of the police vehicle. A young officer was injured in the incident.
Police had been deployed to the multi-storey residential complex following a noise complaint. Investigators are now treating the incident as an attempted homicide. It remains unclear who threw the slab.
The high-rise is regarded in the region as a problem building. Residents, cleaning staff and a kiosk owner told Bild how dangerous everyday life in the building complex is. Nevertheless, many people continue to live there.
Investigations are ongoing.
