An unusual turn of events occurred in Memmingen during the execution of an arrest warrant. Plain-clothes detectives from the Schwaben police station had sought out a 43-year-old man to arrest him. After the officers read him the arrest warrant, the arrested man made a surprising statement: he directed the officers to the fact that an arrest warrant also existed against his wife.
The wanted persons detectives verified the woman's details. The information proved to be correct. What had begun with a single arrest ended with the detention of a married couple.
The police stated that both individuals were taken to different correctional facilities. A spokesman for the authority noted with a hint of a smile: "Both were taken to different correctional facilities, so the two cannot serve their sentences together."
