A 16-year-old youth who seriously wounded two 13-year-old girls with a knife on Wednesday at a grammar school in the Bavarian town of Schongau is being held in custody. Police and the public prosecutor's office stated that the young man is suspected, among other charges, of attempted murder in two cases.
The two injured schoolgirls were cared for and rescued by their classmates following the attack. According to news agency DPA, the youth underwent psychiatric treatment.
