A man died in a knife attack at a bank branch in Regensburg in eastern Bavaria. The victim sustained severe injuries in the branch and was taken to a hospital, where he died despite medical treatment.
Special units freed two other people from the building and secured the area around the bank. The attacker initially remained inside the building before police arrested him. Because the suspect was initially with other people in the building, there was initially concern that he had taken hostages. However, police resolved the situation successfully, according to German media reports.
