In the proceedings surrounding the death of eight-year-old Fabian from Rostock, a camping knife has once again come into focus. Neither blood nor genetic material could be detected on the inconspicuous object. Nevertheless, the legal representative of the parents is convinced that this very tool was used to inflict the fatal stab wounds.
The young boy was killed with a total of six knife stab wounds. The co-plaintiff's lawyer intends to establish the object as decisive evidence in the trial using modern investigation methods. New witness statements relating to the sudden reappearance of the knife and the movements of the accused on a neighbouring property are intended to further sharpen the suspicion.
According to BILD, the planned witness examinations could substantially alter the existing evidence.
