An officer from Mannheim police headquarters is alleged to have abused his official position to sexually assault two young women. The public prosecutor's office is investigating on suspicion of rape against the man.

Both victims are from Colombia. According to the investigating authority, the police officer is alleged to have threatened the women with fictitious administrative fines and intimidated them with threats of arrest. Under this coercion, he is alleged to have forced them to engage in sexual acts.

The women are classified as suspected victims of forced prostitution. Despite their precarious situation, they ultimately decided to file a complaint. The exact circumstances that led to the complaint were not made public.

The accused is a police chief inspector. The case was first reported by BILD, which also cited statements from colleagues of the officer. How the proceedings against the officer will proceed remains unclear at present.
