A court in the west Bohemian city of Pilsen ruled on Monday that the well-known far-right extremist Sven Liebich is to be extradited to Germany. The judges decided that the 48-year-old, who now goes by the name Marla-Svenja Liebich, must be handed over to the German authorities.

Legal remedies can still be filed against the ruling, which means the decision is not yet final. Liebich has been in pre-trial detention in the Czech Republic since the beginning of April. He had crossed the border to escape a prison sentence imposed in the Federal Republic for incitement of hatred against the people.

With the ruling, the Czech judiciary has laid the groundwork for the possible return of the convicted person.
