Romanian arrested in Germany: suspected of forming a far-right terrorist group
The Federal Prosecutor's Office in Germany has announced the arrest of a Romanian national. The man, identified as Nichita P., is suspected of attempting to form a foreign far-right terrorist organisation.
Police from Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg arrested the accused in Enzkreis. According to Mediafax, the Romanian is said to have founded the group as its leader. The charges also include preparation of a serious act of violence endangering the state.
Investigators believe the suspect was a minor at the time of the alleged offence. He was brought before an investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice on the same day. The judge will decide on the arrest warrant and remand in custody.
The legal basis is provided by the German Criminal Code, specifically sections 129a, 129b and 89a.
