On Thursday afternoon, a horrific crime occurred in Hunfelden-Kirberg, a district of the municipality of Hunfelden in the Hessian district of Limburg-Weilburg. A 45-year-old man allegedly killed his 76-year-old mother in their shared residential building.
According to the findings so far from police and the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office, the perpetrator allegedly set his mother's body alight after the crime. The fire also seriously injured his 103-year-old grandmother, who also lived in the house.
Emergency services and fire department personnel were alerted and managed to rescue the elderly woman from the burning building. She was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, where she required emergency medical treatment. Her condition was initially regarded as critical.
