Armed threat during ZDF interview at Boxhagener Platz
According to Google News LU DE citing the Tagesspiegel, an interview subject of a ZDF team was threatened with a firearm in Berlin-Friedrichshain on Wednesday afternoon. Police confirmed the incident on Friday.
The camera crew was at Boxhagener Platz at approximately 13:30 to interview a subject-matter expert from an unspecified organisation. A young man on an e-scooter approached the group and asked which broadcaster the recordings were for. He then pointed a firearm at the interview subject and rode away afterwards. No one was injured.
A ZDF employee only reported the incident to police by email on Thursday — a day after the incident. Because the running camera documented the incident largely, investigators were able to identify a 19-year-old suspect. According to police information, the man is already known to them for violent offences. Investigations are ongoing.
