In the early hours of Tuesday, 150 officers from two federal states disrupted the business model of an alleged drug gang. The joint operation by police and customs authorities took place in three towns in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
The investigators took a total of six people into custody. The suspects consist of five men and one woman, all Polish nationals. They are accused of having distributed various illegal substances in an organised manner over an extended period.
The searches covered multiple residential and business premises, as well as land and vehicles. The officers found large quantities of narcotics. The seized items included cannabis and cannabis plants as well as various stimulant substances. In addition, the officers secured cash and weapons.
The operation was prepared by months of investigation. Officers from Saxony-Anhalt and the neighbouring state of Lower Saxony took part in the action. The authorities released the results jointly. No information was initially provided regarding further proceedings against those arrested.
