Officers from the special operations unit (SEK) searched nine premises in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia on Thursday. The operation took place in a flat in Steinfeld in Vechta district as well as in four flats each in Gelsenkirchen and Gladbeck, according to police. A business address was also checked.

During the searches, sniffer dogs and criminal investigators discovered extensive evidence and weapons. The investigators did not disclose details of the items seized. The raid was based on orders from the Essen public prosecutor's office and targeted eight men aged between 28 and 50 who are associated with the biker scene.

No arrests were made during the operation, according to a police spokesman. The Oldenburg central criminal investigation department is leading the investigation, among other things on suspicion of money laundering. The police made no statement about the number of officers involved.
