Man dies after collision with train near Neuss: police seek identity
A fatal incident on the tracks occurred in the Neuss area in January. On the evening of 31 January, a male person was struck by an incoming commuter train between the stations of Neuss-Süd and Neuss-Norf.
There was nothing that could be done to help the unknown man. Officers at the scene had to establish that he was dead. Whether there is any third-party involvement remains unclear so far – investigators have found no evidence of a criminal offence.
The biggest challenge for the authorities is that the identity of the deceased has not yet been established. Criminal police are now asking witnesses or relatives to come forward if they have any information about who the man might be.
