During a vehicle check in Göttingen, police made extensive weapons and drug discoveries, as ndr.de reports. Officers spotted a sleeping man in a car and subsequently discovered suspicious containers in the vehicle.

On orders from the public prosecutor's office, the vehicle was searched. In the process, investigators seized 170 grammes of MDPV – a substance known in Göttingen by the name "Flex". A small-calibre pistol with live ammunition, loaded gas-pressure weapons, knives, several mobile phones and 9,000 euros in cash were also confiscated.

A 48-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were in the vehicle. The public prosecutor's office ordered house searches for both occupants. In the flat of the 48-year-old in Heiligenstadt, Thuringia, officers found further weapons: including small-calibre pistols, gas-pressure weapons, crossbows and practice hand grenades. In addition, there were intoxicating substances which, according to police, are presumed to be crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy.

An arrest warrant was issued against the 48-year-old. Investigations into the origin of the weapons and drugs are continuing.
