Person arrested in Vejle after lengthy police operation
A person was arrested on Thursday morning at 07:30 in a threats case in Vejle, according to South-East Jutland Police on the service Police Update. This came after officers had cordoned off an address in the town centre for approximately 14 hours.
According to B.T., police attempted on Wednesday evening to establish contact with a person inside the residence using a megaphone. Ekstra Bladet described the operation as a large deployment of officers, including several heavily armed personnel.
No one was injured in connection with the arrest. The police acknowledge that the prolonged cordons in the area around Kalkbrænderivej have been a nuisance for residents.
"However, the cordons were necessary because we wanted to carry out the arrest in the most considerate and safe manner, as well as with the greatest possible security for residents in the area," wrote South-East Jutland Police.
Duty chief Torben Møller stated earlier on Thursday morning to Ekstra Bladet that the case stemmed from a report of threats, and that there was no danger to people in the area.
Although the arrest has been completed, police will remain present at the address for an unspecified period.
