Ukrainian woman hired men to assault ex-partner in Airbnb villa

A 27-year-old Ukrainian woman, Olena Biloshapka, was sentenced on Tuesday by Odense District Court for organising a serious assault on her former partner, according to Politiken.

Biloshapka, who previously worked as a police officer in Ukraine, hired two men to attack her ex-partner in an Airbnb property in Korup near Odense in April last year. He was not present, and the assault instead targeted a Polish couple who had rented a room in the villa. The man in the couple was struck with a crowbar, among other things, according to fyens.dk.

Biloshapka has been sentenced to four years in prison and permanently expelled from Denmark. The two assailants were Rune Wiis Nielsen and Benjamin Lundgaard. Lundgaard, who was also charged with additional offences, has likewise received a four-year prison sentence. Both have appealed their sentences to the High Court. Nielsen was sentenced to two years and three months and has accepted the decision.

In total, the three have been sentenced to prison for over ten years for witness intimidation, illegal coercion, threats and serious assault, according to the prosecution in a post on Anklager Update.
