Asturian referee detained again for assaulting ex-partner in Oviedo
A Second Division referee was arrested over the weekend for assaulting his ex-partner in Oviedo, months after being detained over alleged sexual assault of a sex worker.

An Asturian Second Division referee was detained over the past weekend for an alleged assault on his ex-partner in Oviedo, according to reports from Google News ES — Crime (es) citing La Nueva España as a source. The woman filed a complaint against the referee, who was taken to a police station and remained in police custody until a summary trial took place, at which point a sentence was reached by agreement.
This fresh arrest follows a previous detention in January, when the referee was apprehended in Gijón accused of sexually assaulting a sex worker whilst impersonating a police officer. After giving a statement, he was released on 29 January under a restraining order of 300 metres from the complainant, with an investigation opened into an alleged sexual assault offence.
According to that woman's account, the referee carried various police insignia and used them to coerce and force her to comply with his requests, threatening her that her irregular immigration status in the country would cause her problems if she did not cooperate.
As a consequence of that initial complaint, the Spanish Football Federation provisionally suspended him from officiating in the Second Division. The fresh complaint of assault against his ex-partner in Oviedo adds a second legal front to the one already opened since January.
