During a routine check on the island, officers found drugs in a hidden compartment of the vehicle and more than €2,600 in cash.

National Police officers arrested an individual in Ibiza this past weekend who is suspected of committing an offence against public health. The arrest took place when a patrol from the Citizen Services Unit intercepted him at a roadside checkpoint and noticed unusual behaviour.
Upon searching the car, the officers located three packages of cocaine concealed in a cavity in the vehicle. Along with the drugs, they seized €2,650 in cash distributed in different denominations, as well as three smartphones.
At the police station, officers found an additional bag containing more of the substance among the arrested man's belongings.
According to investigators' assessment, the manner in which the drug was hidden, its distribution into separate packages, and the amount of money found suggest that the detainee intended to sell it. All seized material has been handed over to the competent court and the investigation is ongoing.
