Armed robbery at Pinto jewellery shop: three masked men fire shots in air and flee in stolen car
Three masked men robbed the Roselin jewellery shop at the Plaza Éboli shopping centre in Pinto on Monday, firing shots in the air and smashing display cases. Two employees suffered anxiety attacks; no arrests have been made.

Three hooded men burst into the Roselin jewellery shop at the Plaza Éboli shopping centre in Pinto, in the Community of Madrid, on Monday at 19.15 hours, according to confirmation from the Guardia Civil. As reported by El Mundo, one of the robbers wielded a short firearm with which he fired shots in the air to intimidate the employees whilst the other two smashed several display cases with sledgehammers and seized bags loaded with jewellery.
Following the robbery, the three individuals fled in a grey Mercedes which was waiting for them at the entrance to the shopping centre. The vehicle had been stolen hours earlier in the Madrid district of Latina.
Two employees treated for anxiety
Several witnesses witnessed the assault and heard the shots fired in the air during the robbery. Two employees of the establishment had to be treated for anxiety attacks, although no physical injuries were recorded. The Guardia Civil cordoned off the shopping centre and is maintaining an open investigation to clarify the facts, identify the perpetrators and determine the value of the stolen haul. No arrests have been made at present.
New wave of jewellery shop robberies in Madrid
The assault is part of a series of recent robberies targeting jewellery shops in the region. Investigators are studying the possible link between this heist and others carried out recently in Torrelodones and at the La Vaguada shopping centre. In recent months similar robberies have been recorded at establishments in Madrid capital, Torrejón de Ardoz and Torrelodones, carried out by groups acting hooded, armed and in high-powered vehicles.
The National Police recently arrested a gang of Peruvian origin accused of robbing five jewellery shops in the Community of Madrid. Its members were arrested following their latest heist, committed at a jewellery shop in the Ciudad Lineal district, where they entered disguised as a monk and priest. The detainees lived irregularly in a flat in Vallecas and changed disguises at each robbery.
Officers continue to gather information on the modus operandi of the Pinto case robbers, the exact haul they managed to take and the vehicles used to flee.
