Officers from the National Police, together with Europol and French police, have arrested two suspected leaders of a network that sent narcotics to Rennes hidden in postal shipments in Castelldefels.

An international operation has resulted in the arrest in Castelldefels of two individuals who allegedly directed an organisation dedicated to the illicit sending of substances from the province of Barcelona to the French city of Rennes. The investigation, which began in summer 2025, has been carried out by the National Police in coordination with Europol and the French Gendarmerie.
The criminal structure had its core in French territory, although two of its main members were resident in Castelldefels, from where they managed the purchase and subsequent remittance of drugs. To do so, they exploited the services of legitimate courier companies, injecting the packages with narcotics into their normal logistical circuits.
During a search of the premises used by those arrested, investigators found more than five kilograms of cocaine, approximately forty-three kilograms of hashish and just over twelve kilograms of packaged marijuana. In addition, over three thousand cigarette packets were seized, nearly ninety-one thousand euros in cash, digital assets, luxury items, two high-end cars and documents relating to the acquisition of properties in Spain, France and Morocco.
France is pressing charges against those arrested for membership in a criminal group, money laundering and drug trafficking. In the Spanish jurisdiction, the charges also include drug trafficking, smuggling and document falsification. After appearing before the judge, one remains in provisional detention; the other was released on the condition of surrendering his passport and appearing at court every week.
