The Civil Guard has arrested four members of a family clan in Oliva — three men and one woman, aged between 28 and 70, all Spanish nationals — accused of burglary and marijuana distribution in the Valencian town, according to cadenaser.com. During a search of the residence, more than three kilograms of marijuana were seized.
The operation also led to the discovery of a short-barrelled firearm that was listed as stolen in Switzerland, as well as twelve fighting cocks and a potentially dangerous dog breed, with all the animals apparently in poor condition.
The investigation began in May of this year following a report of the theft of fire hydrants from agricultural plots and water metres at a property in Xeresa. Images captured by security cameras made it possible to identify the vehicle used in the offences and, from there, its registered owner and the rest of the network.
Throughout the investigation, officers verified that the clan operated in both Oliva and other nearby municipalities, combining burglaries with retail cannabis sales.
