The National Police have arrested a man in Logroño accused of running a drug den from which narcotics were distributed, according to newscuatrouno.com. The operation took place on Thursday morning when officers accessed the property that functioned as a habitual point for drug sales and consumption.
The investigation began thanks to residents of the neighbourhood, who alerted authorities to the constant influx of unfamiliar people entering the property. Logroño's Local Police collaborated and coordinated their actions with the National Police from the earliest phases of the operation.
Once the gathered information had been analysed, officers identified the suspected person responsible for the activity and proceeded with his arrest. The detainee distributed small quantities of drugs in each transaction, apparently to hinder police intervention and reduce the risk of detection.
The operation involved the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) and agents from the Drug and Organised Crime Unit (UDYCO), which had been leading the investigation from its outset. During the search, various narcotics, tools and instruments intended for distribution were seized, alongside an HS-brand pistol and a significant sum of cash.
The operation is part of the security measures put in place by the National Police ahead of the upcoming San Bernabé festivities. In this context, officers have intensified actions aimed at detecting and eliminating drug sales points, with the objective of ensuring the normal development of the festive events and reinforcing public safety.
