Arrests in operation against Ceuta NGO

The Guardia Civil arrested a man and a woman on Thursday following an operation at the headquarters of a non-governmental organisation in Ceuta. According to El Confidencial, the operation was carried out with judicial authorisation and was aimed at investigating the alleged incitement of migrants to attack security forces.

Officers deployed the operation at 6:30 in the morning with entries into two premises, one in the Almadraba area and another in the Tarajal. During the searches, agents located three migrants inside the facilities. Judicial Police and Intelligence officers participated in the operation.

The investigation focuses on the alleged relationship between the organisation and practices aimed at promoting attacks against police and military personnel. Suspicions include the distribution of pepper spray to migrants as an instrument for these attacks. The two arrested individuals will be transferred to police headquarters for their presentation to the courts.

According to local media, boxes of material were removed from the searched spaces. One of the warehouses in the Tarajal Industrial Estate was closed down during the operation. The inquiry remains open and without official confirmation of the specific identity of the organisation involved, although sources in the investigation confirmed the details to Europa Press.
