National Police arrested a 48-year-old man at an establishment in Arrecife, Lanzarote, after finding cocaine, sildenafil and 2,000 euros in cash.

National Police have arrested a 48-year-old man in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote, as the suspected perpetrator of a crime against public health, according to canarias7.es. Officers intervened at an establishment where they located more than 74 grammes of cocaine, 1,243 tablets of sildenafil—the active ingredient in viagra—and 2,000 euros in cash.
According to a press release from National Police, officers from the Prevention and Response Unit acted as part of preventative measures against drug trafficking. During the search of the establishment, they initially found a bum bag containing 268 tablets of 100-milligramme sildenafil, a medication indicated for erectile dysfunction, along with cash.
The subsequent inspection made it possible to locate 101 wrappings of cocaine with a combined weight of approximately 74.30 grammes, as well as a further 975 tablets of sildenafil.
Given the quantity of items seized and the evidence gathered, officers proceeded to arrest the person responsible for the establishment. The detainee was taken to National Police facilities, where he was held in custody whilst proceedings in the case continue.
