National Police have arrested a man aged 86 at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport who was transporting more than 4.5 kilograms of cocaine concealed in his luggage.

Officers of the National Police have arrested a man aged 86 at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport who was carrying more than 4.5 kilograms of cocaine concealed in his luggage.
The arrest took place at the passport control of the Madrid airport when officials noticed suspicious behaviour in the passenger, who had arrived on a flight from South America. During inspection of his suitcase, officers located a large quantity of white powder concealed inside the bag.
Tests carried out confirmed that it was cocaine, with a weight exceeding 4.5 kilograms. The man arrested, of Spanish nationality, was taken to police facilities and placed at the disposal of the courts.
The operation forms part of the enhanced checks maintained by the National Police at Spanish airports to intercept drug trafficking.
