Man arrested in Bera with 20 kg of marijuana and 4 kg of hashish after fleeing Civil Guard on foot
A 43-year-old man was arrested in Bera after abandoning his car containing more than 24 kg of drugs and 935 euros in cash. The Civil Guard pursued him from Sumbilla for reckless driving.

According to diariodenavarra.es, the Civil Guard of Navarra arrested a 43-year-old Spanish national resident in Alicante on 3 June as the suspected perpetrator of drug trafficking and a road safety offence. In the boot of his car, officers found 20 kilograms and 771 grams of marijuana, 4 kilograms and 212 grams of hashish, and 935 euros in cash.
The incident began when a patrol detected a vehicle travelling at an inappropriate speed and making dangerous overtaking manoeuvres on the N-121-A at Sumbilla. Officers followed the car for several kilometres before signalling it to stop.
The driver ignored the police instructions and continued driving until Bera, where he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. He was eventually caught, identified and arrested by officers.
An inspection of the car revealed several bags containing narcotic substances distributed throughout the vehicle's interior, as well as the cash. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities as the suspected perpetrator of the alleged offences.
