Man detained in Córdoba on judicial warrant for terrorism apology
An operation by the National Police concluded with the detention in the Andalusian city of a subject wanted by the National Court on suspicion of glorification of jihadist terrorism.
The investigation began more than two years ago, in February 2023, following receipt of information about an individual who might have been undergoing a phase of violent religious radicalisation in the Córdoba capital. Initial enquiries validated this hypothesis and prompted an investigation which, according to police sources, revealed a progressive escalation towards extremist positions of a terrorist nature.
At some point during the procedure, officers became aware that the high court had issued against this man an order for search, arrest and admission to a penitentiary centre for the crime of glorification of terrorism.
After locating his whereabouts, members of the Provincial Police Station of Córdoba executed the detention. Subsequently, after appearing before judicial authorities, the investigating judge ordered his provisional imprisonment.
