Detainee arrested at El Prat with 31 kg of cocaine hidden in two suitcases from Mexico
A passenger arriving from Mexico City was arrested on 16 August at Barcelona airport with more than 31 kilograms of cocaine. He was remanded in custody pending trial on charges of public health offences.

The National Police arrested a passenger on 16 August at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport with 31.093 kilograms of cocaine distributed across two suitcases, according to cadenaser.com.
The detainee had arrived on a flight from Mexico City. During passenger control, officers observed that he was giving "incoherent answers" and displayed a "nervous and hesitant attitude", which prompted a search of his luggage.
Inside the suitcases, police found 26 tablets of a "whitish and compact" substance which, after analysis, tested positive for cocaine. The detainee was placed at the disposal of judicial authorities on charges of a public health offence and the judge ordered his remand in custody.
The arrest took place as part of controls carried out by the National Police at El Prat on so-called "hot flights", operations aimed at identifying passengers who may be carrying narcotics.
