A 37-year-old man has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of attempted murder after stabbing a 33-year-old relative during an argument in Alcorcón, according to reports from cadenaser.com. The National Police made the arrest last Friday in Getafe, and the detainee has already been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
The incident occurred on Thursday at 20:30 hours on Avenida de Portugal in Alcorcón. Both parties involved, relatives and Nicaraguan nationals, engaged in an argument whose motive has not been disclosed so far. According to police sources cited by EFE, one of them slapped the other, and the latter responded with a stab wound.
The injured man attempted to pursue his attacker but ultimately collapsed on Calle Badajoz in the same town. A police patrol found him lying in the street, conscious and being attended to by a passer-by. He was taken to hospital to receive medical assistance. The weapon used was not found at the scene.
At midday the following day, officers from the National Police located and arrested the alleged attacker in Getafe, barely 24 hours after the stabbing, according to the same police sources.
