Man arrested in Huesca for jihadist self-indoctrination and incitement to terrorism
The National Police arrested a man in Huesca on Monday linked to jihadist terrorism. The detainee has been remanded in custody by order of the National Court.
Man arrested in Huesca with high jihadist radicalisation following months of investigation
The National Police detained a man in Huesca last Monday on suspicion of involvement in offences of self-indoctrination, indoctrination, recruitment and glorification of terrorism, according to Google News ES — Crime (es) based on a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
The investigation began in mid-2024, when counter-terrorism specialists identified the individual as a person with a high degree of radicalisation and a marked interest in violent and armed actions. Over the following months, investigators established that his level of jihadist radicalisation was increasing, reaching the point of expressing his intention to conduct Jihad in the future.
The detainee accessed and massively published terrorist content on his social media accounts, and among his contacts were individuals known as proponents of pro-jihadist ideology. This prolonged consumption of extremist material, combined with his declared willingness to travel to a conflict zone, proved decisive in his detention.
The operation was coordinated by the General Directorate of Information with the collaboration of the Provincial Information Brigades of Zaragoza and Huesca, under the direction of the Central Court of Instruction Number Four and the Prosecutor's Office of the National Court.
Following his submission to the courts, the judge ordered the remand in custody of the detainee.
