The National Police detained a man in Ibiza on Monday at 20:30 hours on suspicion of committing a public health offence, according to cadenaser.com. The suspect was carrying approximately fifty MDMA tablets, more than ten doses of heroin, more than ten grammes of marijuana and around ten grammes of crack cocaine.

The operation began when officers from the Operational Response Group observed the individual in the Figueretes neighbourhood. Upon noticing the police presence, the man adopted an agitated and evasive manner and fled on foot through the streets of the neighbourhood.

During the flight, the suspect attempted to hide in the entrance of a building, which he tried to open with a card. Officers managed to intercept him shortly afterwards.

Following his arrest, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authorities for the clarification of the facts and the undertaking of the corresponding proceedings.

The operation is part of the prevention and surveillance work carried out by the National Police in the city of Ibiza to detect and combat the trafficking and distribution of narcotic substances.
