The National Police has arrested in Illescas, a municipality in the province of Toledo, an individual who was wanted by the Dominican Republic authorities. The detainee is suspected of having participated in a crime in which the victim died after being struck with a baseball bat.
The arrest was made within the framework of international police cooperation, when Spanish officers located the fugitive on national territory. After verifying his identity and confirming that an active arrest warrant had been issued by the Caribbean country, they proceeded with his arrest.
The man remains at the disposal of Spanish justice whilst the procedures for his possible extradition to the Dominican Republic are managed, where he will have to answer before the courts for the facts alleged against him.
