On the afternoon of Monday 29 June, a 30-year-old man was arrested in Ogíjares (Granada) after attempting to evade a Local Police checkpoint. The car transported a cargo of ten kilograms of marijuana together with instruments for its weighing and packaging.
The events occurred around eight in the evening, according to sources close to the case. Officers patrolling the municipality observed a vehicle whose driving appeared suspicious. When attempting to intercept it, the driver accelerated and fled.
Following a pursuit through the streets of the town, the uniformed officers managed to cut off his path. Upon inspecting the car, they found approximately ten kilos of cannabis distributed across several packages. They also located a precision scale and equipment for vacuum-sealing the product.
The detainee was taken to police headquarters and placed at the disposal of the court for an offence against public health. The seized substance was placed in judicial custody.
