Shoots at acquaintance following late-night dispute in As Burgas pub

Spain's National Police arrested a 33-year-old man on Sunday in Ourense on suspicion of attempted homicide, according to lavozdegalicia.es. The arrested man had had a dispute with the victim hours earlier in a pub in the city's As Burgas area, where he had already threatened to kill him.

The attacker then waited near his acquaintance's home in the O Vinteún neighbourhood. When he saw him arrive, he got out of the vehicle where he had been waiting and told him: "I'm going to kill you."

The victim drew a bladed weapon to defend himself. The attacker responded by wielding a pistol and fired several times at him. The shots did not hit the man, who ran away.

The gunshots woke residents, who alerted Spain's National Police in the middle of the night. Based on information provided by the victim, officers deployed a search operation that allowed them to locate the suspect's vehicle shortly afterwards.

The arrested man was taken to Ourense's National Police station and subsequently brought before the Duty Magistrate's Court of Ourense.
