Man arrested in Palencia for breaching restraining order and threatening police officers
A man was arrested in the Palencia capital in the early hours of Wednesday 8 July after being discovered near the home of a person protected by a judicial protection order. The intervention took place just after half past two in the morning, when a patrol carrying out routine surveillance duties detected his presence in the vicinity of the building entrance.
Officers confirmed through police databases that the restraining order remained in force. They therefore proceeded with his arrest for alleged breach of the judicial ruling. However, the situation escalated during transport, as the arrested man began directing intimidating threats at the officers and inflicted injuries upon himself inside the official vehicle.
Given these facts and the individual's history of similar behaviour, preventive health protocol was activated. Police officers took him to Hospital Río Carrión, where he received medical attention whilst remaining under police supervision. During treatment, the individual maintained his hostile attitude, directing intimidating expressions towards medical staff as well.
After completing the pertinent police procedures, the arrested man was handed over to the judicial authority, which must resolve his procedural situation. The facts have been brought to the attention of specialist units for victim protection to verify the condition of the person protected by the order.
