The National Police have arrested a man in the Sárdoma neighbourhood in Vigo as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking offence, according to cadenaser.com. The operation concludes an investigation spanning several months carried out by the UDYCO unit at the Vigo-Redondela Police Station.
The investigation began following information from members of the public alerting authorities to an individual who was distributing narcotics regularly in the area. The suspect was operating from his own home and travelled to various leisure and hospitality venues in the surrounding area.
Surveillance and monitoring operations deployed by investigators made it possible to confirm the criminal activity. The arrested man was primarily trafficking in cocaine and designer drugs.
During the operation, officers seized the following items:
- Cocaine: 11 grammes ready for distribution.
- Ecstasy: 5 grammes of synthetic substance.
- Cash: 750 euros in notes of various denominations, allegedly the proceeds of sales.
- Equipment: a precision scale for weighing doses.
The arrested man was transferred and brought before the on-duty investigating court in Vigo on the morning of Thursday.
