Vilagarcía de Arousa local police arrested a 37-year-old man for an alleged domestic violence offence after insulting, assaulting and threatening to throw his partner and her mother into the water.

In Vilagarcía de Arousa, a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, local police officers have taken a 37-year-old man into custody. He is alleged to have committed a domestic violence offence consisting of insulting, physically assaulting and threatening to throw his partner and her mother into the Con river.
The incident occurred after 11 p.m. on Thursday on Avenida Doutor Tourón. Eyewitnesses reported to the authorities a heated argument. The arrested man was engaged in a very intense verbal altercation with both women. At one point, he simulated throwing them into the river, which is located at the intersection of Avenida Doutor Tourón and Vía Rodrigo de Mendoza.
The arrival of a police unit did not calm the subject. He ignored officers' orders, violently lunged at them and attempted to prevent his arrest.
Given his extreme state of agitation, officers took him to Hospital do Salnés, where staff had to resort to restraint measures due to his hostile behaviour.
