Man arrested for 13 burglaries in Madrid city centre: he kicked down doors
A man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of 13 aggravated burglaries in flats in Madrid's Centro district. His partner was also detained on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

The National Police detained a man as the alleged perpetrator of 13 aggravated burglaries in homes in Madrid's Centro district, according to elmundo.es. The suspect gained access to the dwellings by kicking down the front doors.
The arrested man targeted buildings with wooden panel doors decades old, characterised by their poor structural resistance. Once inside, he took mainly small but high-value items such as jewellery and electronic devices, in order to avoid drawing attention during his escape. The stolen goods were subsequently sold.
Investigations intensified in June, coinciding with the onset of summer and the usual increase in this type of crime. On 18 August, officers detected the suspect whilst he wandered through the Centro district and, according to the investigation, he was heading to commit another burglary.
After his arrest, the man was remanded to judicial authority, which ordered his immediate imprisonment as the alleged perpetrator of 13 aggravated burglary offences and one fraud offence.
That same day his romantic partner was also detained, accused of handling stolen goods for having sold objects from the burglaries. During police operations, several pieces of jewellery and a watch linked to the investigated incidents were seized.
