A 46-year-old man was arrested in La Roda (Albacete) after voluntarily presenting himself at the Guardia Civil barracks to confess that he had stabbed his flatmate, aged 52. Both were Romanian nationals and shared a dwelling in that locality.
According to information provided by the Guardia Civil to abc.es, the man presented himself at the barracks at 7:40 on Friday morning and reported that during the previous night he had wounded his flatmate with a bladed weapon, who had died as a result of the injuries.
A patrol was immediately sent to the address and confirmed the facts reported. With judicial procedures activated, officers proceeded to arrest the confessor of the assault, who was held at the barracks pending his appearance before a judge.
An autopsy of the deceased's body was carried out late in the morning of the same Friday. The Judicial Police team in La Roda has assumed responsibility for the investigation of the case, according to the same sources.
