A man has been arrested in Ponferrada, in the province of León, accused of selling narcotics from a residential property located next to the Campo de la Cruz educational centre. Officers from the National Police have declared the distribution point dismantled after seizing substances and material for their division.
According to reports from Cadena SER, only two apartments in the building were occupied. One of them was occupied by the now-arrested man, against whom there were already indications of possible involvement in unlawful activities related to narcotics.
During surveillance of the location, police officers drew up various seizure reports against several buyers who came to the residence. In addition, they found that the suspect received a large number of transfers through the Bizum application. The descriptions and amounts of these payments proved particularly revealing for the investigation, as they facilitated the reconstruction of the customer network.
The operation culminated in the detention of the individual and the subsequent search of his residence. Inside the property, officers found various quantities of marijuana and cocaine, as well as tools used for cutting, preparing and distributing the merchandise. Among the seized material were precision scales, plastic wrapping and cash divided into low-denomination notes.
The arrested man has been placed at the disposal of the courts whilst investigations continue to determine the exact scope of the distribution network and whether there were other people involved in the criminal activity.
