A group of four masked assailants attacked a man in his car, gagged him, placed him in the boot and then searched his house. One of the attackers is already in provisional prison.
One of four robbers who kidnapped a man in Telde arrested
A man was attacked inside his car in Telde, Gran Canaria, by four masked individuals. The assailants beat him, immobilised his limbs with plastic ties and adhesive tape, and placed him in the back of his own vehicle. They then took him to his residence, where they locked him in a tool shed whilst they ransacked the house.
The robbery resulted in approximately 10,000 euros in cash, several personal items and a car, which patrols from the Civil Security force recovered shortly after near the scene of the crime.
The Local Judicial Police Brigade of the National Police took charge of the investigation. They managed to track down two of the four individuals involved and found the car used in the robbery. Inside, they discovered a knife that the victim identified as the one used to threaten him, along with traces and other evidence linking the suspects to the incident.
Following the investigation, officers arrested one of the alleged perpetrators, a 46-year-old man. The duty judge ordered his provisional imprisonment. Police work continues to apprehend the rest of the gang.
