Palma Local Police arrested two male Algerian nationals, aged 26 and 27, after being caught stealing belongings from bathers on Can Pere Antoni beach. The tourists identified the recovered items, valued at over 400 euros.

Two young men of Algerian nationality, aged 26 and 27, were arrested in Palma by Local Police officers after being caught allegedly stealing belongings from tourists on Can Pere Antoni beach.
The incident occurred last Thursday, at approximately 3:30 in the morning, when a citizen alerted a patrol that several individuals were circulating on electric scooters across the sand and taking personal items from bathers.
An officer located two suspects matching the description provided and intercepted them. In their possession they were carrying various high-end technological devices hidden amongst their clothing and accessories: a latest generation mobile telephone, a camera, portable chargers and wireless headphones, in addition to cash in euros and British pounds sterling.
Officers searched the surrounding area and found, behind a nearby fence, two bags containing documentation and further items belonging to the victims. At the scene, the Citizens' Assistance Group (GAP) attended to three young tourists who reported the theft of their belongings whilst they were gathered on the shore.
The affected parties unquestionably identified all the seized articles as their own. The combined value of the recovered items exceeds 400 euros.
After being taken to the municipal detention centre, the Criminal Investigation Unit carried out the appropriate procedures and subsequently handed the detainees over to the National Police.
