The Civil Guard and National Police detained two women in Mallorca on Wednesday, linked to the collective Menys Turisme, Més Vida (Less Tourism, More Life), for their alleged involvement in acts of vandalism against offices of foreign estate agencies in Santa Maria on 31 May.
The group, concealed with hoods, caused damage to five establishments in the property sector. One of the premises is located in a building classified as a Heritage Asset, which adds a charge relating to damage to historical heritage to the accusations of property damage.
After being brought before a judge, the detainees were released on bail. Investigators do not rule out also charging them with the offence of membership of a criminal organisation, given that they are believed to have acted in accordance with a manual distributed by the movement to which they are linked.
Both police forces are maintaining open investigations into Menys Turisme, Més Vida and the radical youth organisation Arran. Further arrests are expected following analysis of images captured by security cameras during the incidents.
