Officials from the National Police Corps have apprehended two individuals in Cantabria who were being sought by the courts. Each arrest took place in a different locality—Santander and Torrelavega—and in both cases the tribunals had issued orders for their deprivation of liberty.
The first intervention was recorded on Sunday morning in the vicinity of Santander bay. A police unit patrolling the area spotted a man who, upon noticing the uniformed officers, attempted to slip away. The officers caught up with him, verified his identity and discovered that an arrest warrant and order to enter a penitentiary facility was outstanding against him. He was immediately transferred to police headquarters.
The second apprehension took place at midnight on Monday in the urban centre of Torrelavega. There, an emergency call alerted the control centre that an individual was causing a disturbance on the street. A patrol went to the scene, identified the person responsible for the trouble and established that a judicial arrest warrant and order to enter prison issued by a court in Valladolid was also outstanding against him. He was arrested and taken to the police station.
After appearing before the judge, both were placed in custody, thereby executing the judicial orders that were pending against them.
