Two Swedish men sought detained in Spain for serious offences
Spanish police have detained two Swedish men who were being sought internationally for violent offences. The detentions took place on 2 and 3 July in collaboration between Swedish and Spanish law enforcement.
The first man, aged around thirty, was arrested in Alicante. He is suspected of incitement to serious weapons offences on two occasions in the Stockholm area, incitement to dangerous destruction endangering the public in Linköping, as well as involving a minor in criminal activities. He has connections with an international criminal network.
The second man, aged around twenty, was detained in Fuengirola. He had previously been convicted of a serious weapons offence in May 2025.
– The detention of the thirty-year-old instigator is important. He has had a clear influence on the situation in Stockholm, says Christer Chernström, investigation chief for Stockholm South police district.
To date this year, 165 Swedish wanted persons have been detained abroad. Of these, 31 people have been located in Spain. During the same period last year, 139 Swedish nationals were detained abroad under Swedish wanted notices.
