The leaders of these gangs direct activities from a distance, without needing to travel to the territory where their subordinates operate.
The method employed by these groups begins with approaching young girls in fragile circumstances, predominantly aged between 18 and 20 years. Once they fall into the hands of the traffickers, they subject them to blackmail. As an intermediate step before their transfer to Spain, they force them to engage in prostitution in Southern Cone countries. This trial period allows the exploiters to verify the obedience of the women before investing in their journey across the ocean.
The peninsula's authorities also detected the presence of similar structures from Colombia, Paraguay and China, all engaged in the same criminal activity.
